You are invited to Kindergarten Round-Up day, Wednesday, April 27, at 9:00 a.m. Our staff will be giving new Kindergarten students and their parents a tour of the campus. You will be able to visit classrooms, receive resources, and have time to ask questions about our Kindergarten program. If your child has not been enrolled yet, this would be a perfect time to complete the registration for fall classes.

Do you or someone you know have a child that is five years old or will be five by September 1? Please come register your child for Kindergarten at Sleepy Hill Elementary any school day between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Required documents needed to enroll in Kindergarten include:
*Birth Certificate
*Immunization record on Florida form 680
*Recent physical (dated after August 10, 2021)
*Social Security Number (Voluntary)
Plus, proof of residence (MUST have 2) Acceptable documents must show your name and address, and be dated within 30 days. Envelopes are not accepted.
*Current rent receipt or lease agreement, mortgage or property tax record
*Current utility bill (electric, cable, home phone bill)
*Current Florida driver’s license, auto registration, or auto insurance
*Current voter I.D., State of Florida I.D. Card
*Proof of current government benefits, such as Medicare, disability, food stamps, DCF.
Polk County Public Schools will offer controlled open enrollment (COE) for the 2022-23 school year, beginning Monday, April 4.
The COE process gives students throughout Florida an opportunity to attend a school other than their zoned school. Families can apply for placement in any school that still has seats available.
PCPS will begin accepting COE applications at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2022.
Applications must be submitted online through Parent Portal. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, April 29.
Parents of students approved for transfers through COE will be notified by email once the enrollment period ends.

In Zone Enrollment is open. Students must be 5 years old by September 1 to start Kindergarten. Registration forms can be picked up in the school office between 8:30 – 1:00 each day. Parents need to bring: birth certificate, shot records, current physical and two proofs of residence along with the completed registration forms.
For students currently enrolled at Sleepy Hill that are in our zone, they will be automatically enrolled for next school year, unless they are here on an affidavit. Students on an affidavit currently, must provide the school with two proofs of residence to be enrolled in the 2021 – 2022 school year.

It is with great excitement that we introduce you to our Assistant Principal of Sleepy Hill Elementary School, Mrs. Emily Fite.
She has lived most of her life in Polk County and spent most of her professional career working with elementary school students. For the last 9 years here in Polk County she has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades and have served as the Literacy Coach at Cleveland Court Elementary for 3 years. She earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2016 and a Master’s degree in Reading in 2018 from Southeastern University.
As our Assistant Principal, she promises to work diligently with the staff, students and families to carry out our vision and mission and is committed to working side by side with all of you to ensure our students succeed academically and become life-long learners!
